Bill is a writer and director.
During twenty-plus years at BBDO, NY, Bill wrote, produced, and directed work that tapped into popular culture and often influenced it—according, at least, to two Harvard studies and the writings of William Safire, David Browne and a few others.
In 2005, Bill was elevated to Chief Creative Officer and Chairman of BBDO, NY. Under his leadership, he helped guide BBDO, NY's transformation into a modern tech-age, new-media advertising agency. The key was to deliver the biggest, boldest, most-compelling ideas in the most-innovative, unexpected ways. It worked. Business grew and awards piled up.
In 2010, Bill realized that the business had changed and so had he.
A storyteller at heart, Bill wanted to change his own story.
After a shift to directing, and a stint at RSA Productions, Bill established Bruce Entertainment Group - b.e.g. A company whose goal is to create longer-format, character-driven stories that connect, inspire and, hopefully, move people. Work for Paramount Pictures, Milwaukee Bucks and a few others got things rolling.
Bill also began writing short stories. Among others, his work has appeared in Lunate UK, Mud Season Review, Oyster River Pages, and was awarded first place in the 2019 Streetlight Magazine's Short Fiction Contest. At some point, a collection of those and a few others will be published.
A novel is also in the works.
